About CODEWARD
CODEWARD ENGINEERING exists to help product teams make important technical decisions, build foundations that last, and carry difficult software initiatives through to dependable delivery.
The meaning of Codeward
The name Codeward expresses a direction: forward through software engineering.
Forward does not mean pursuing every new technology or shipping at any cost. It means understanding what progress requires, making the right tradeoffs, and improving the product without compromising its future.
Sometimes that means taking an important initiative across the line. Sometimes it means removing architectural constraints, strengthening a team, or changing how a product is understood. The measure is not activity. It is meaningful, durable progress.
Why the company exists
Product organizations often face a gap between strategic technical advice and the reality of delivery. A recommendation can be sound but still fail if nobody owns the tradeoffs, works through the constraints, or helps the team carry it into production.
CODEWARD was formed to bridge that gap. It combines engineering leadership, architecture, and hands-on product work so that direction stays connected to implementation.
The goal is to create clarity, reduce the risks that matter, and help capable people make progress together.
Working principles
Technology, roles, and team shape follow from a clear understanding of the objective, constraints, and desired outcome.
Make options, consequences, and assumptions visible so teams can move with confidence.
Architecture and strategy must survive contact with real implementation.
Clearer boundaries, reusable systems, stronger practices, and better decisions continue to create value.
A successful engagement should leave behind greater clarity and capability, not dependency.
Prefer understandable systems, proportional solutions, and technology chosen for durable reasons.
Founder-led
CODEWARD is led by Vladimir Petrović, an engineering leader and software architect with more than 20 years of experience across product engineering, technical leadership, platform architecture, modernization, and complex delivery.
His recent work includes technical leadership and foundational engineering for regulated healthcare products, reusable architecture for multi-app platforms, and improvements spanning quality, testing, CI/CD, release practices, and team capability.
Founder-led means clients work directly with the person accountable for technical direction and delivery. It does not mean every problem must be solved by one person.
Teams shaped around the problem
Some challenges require focused senior leadership. Others need a broader combination of engineering, product, design, or specialist capability.
CODEWARD begins with the problem, identifies what the work actually requires, and can form a fit-for-purpose team from trusted specialists. The aim is not to fill seats. It is to bring together the judgment, experience, and working relationships needed for the outcome.
Today, this is a deliberately human and relationship-driven process. Trust, relevant evidence, communication, and the ability to work effectively together matter as much as matching a list of technologies.
How CODEWARD works
Work with senior technical leadership without layers of account management or distance from decisions.
Work openly with founders, product leaders, designers, engineers, and stakeholders.
Shape the engagement around what the challenge needs, from focused assessment to complete delivery.
Founder-led from Belgrade, working in English across the EU, UK, and US.
